Well, it looks like what they say is true. Dreams DO come true. When we got an email last fall asking if we could come to Maui for this wedding, we seriously couldn’t believe it. We already had one in Maui on the books for THREE days later, so the fact that we were already in Maui anyway made this a total no-brainer. All I remember is that our reply to that email had a lot of exclamation points and used the word “YES” quite a few times. Also, the fact that Matt & Brooks are from Chicago, but found us online randomly is just too cool.
Getting to shoot Matt & Brooks wedding was special though for more reasons than just being in tropical paradise. These two had not only thought of everything, from incredible decor, to food, and style, but they thought to include us as guests and make us feel like part of the family. Which for us, as photographers, is SO fun. We feel like our best work comes from times where it didn’t feel like work. And shooting all day in the hot sun can be tiring. But this day, it didn’t matter. We were loving every second of it. Plus, all the friends and family that had traveled all the way to Hawaii to celebrate were just so fun to be around. We are now pretty much obsessed with the Olowalu Plantation House, as it was one of the sweetest properties/places you could imagine. Especially for a wedding.
We’ll cut the gushing there, but continue via photos. Enjoy.
