There’s something special about getting married in the San Juan Islands. A big part of that has to be the fact that since you’re literally disconnected from the rest of the world geographically, there is a sense of calm. A sense of peace and an exclusivity that lends itself perfectly to a wedding. Ian & Dominique live in the Netherlands, but with many connections back here to the PNW, decided to tie the knot out on the beautiful Lopez Island, specifically at the end of a short hiking trail which overlooks the straight of Juan de Fuca and neighboring islands. Having both been heavily involved in professional sailing, even coaching Olympic teams, the ocean was an essential backdrop for both Ian & Dominique. The day was relaxed, calm, and with only small handful of friends and family felt like the perfect amount of guests. The food was incredible, the weather was FAR better than forecast, and our hearts were racing most of the day as beauty continued to unfold itself around us. Lopez Island Wedding
