Nick & Melissa | Married

When we got an email from Melissa asking about a photo shoot, we knew right away we’d have a great evening with these two! Nick & Melissa never got engagement photos done, so after a few years now of being married, they thought it was a good time to get some new photos. (Especially since Nick had been deployed for quite a while serving in the Air Force as a pilot.) It was only a quick 2 emails later that we nailed down a date and location in beautiful Anacortes. The weather that night couldn’t have been better. About 72 degrees, sunshine, a slight breeze coming off the ocean, and from where we were, we could hear jazz music playing from the Anacortes waterfront. Add in a great couple and it was just about perfect!

It was pretty apparent that these two are madly in love. For instance. Nick REALLY doesn’t like cats, but since Melissa does, he agreed that they get one. Melissa REALLLY doesn’t like running, but since Nick does, they did a half marathon together. (The day after this shoot actually!) It was especially fun for us to shoot a couple that wasn’t newly engaged, or getting married that day, but that after years of marriage had developed their love into something really tangible and real. Don’t get us wrong, we love capturing all those stages of life, but it was really cool to change gears and see that contrast in how love grows over time.
