When Stefan & I got the email from Lacey about possibly shooting their destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, I’m pretty sure I started shrieking a little and most likely jumped up and down a bunch. “Pinch me I’m dreaming!” Now that the wedding has come & gone it still feels surreal. All that planning & preparing; than poof it’s over. This is why it’s SO SO important to hire photographers you trust with a style you love. We can’t stress the importance of this enough because once the day is over the pictures are what hold all those memories.
Even though Gabe & Lacey had their wedding in a different country, it didn’t prevent them from adding small personalized details into their day. Maracas with each guests name on them, Lacey’s bouquet held a picture of her Dad (we can all thank him with a big air high five for placing a love for Cabo in Lacey’s heart), their guest book was shaped like WA state, and you can’t end an evening of dancing on the beach in Mexico without a little bit of Mackelmore (with the entire party chanting “SEA-HAWKS!” so loud the entire city could hear). But the most important detail of all was the big ol’ handful of family & friends that traveled over there to support Gabe & Lacey as they said “I DO”!
This is by FAR one of our favorite days of shooting weddings. And not just because it was in Mexico. I mean it was hokey pete hot!! It is ranked one of our favorites because of the bride & groom. They included us in everything. They made us feel just as welcome & important as family. They were willing to stand in the heat of the sun to let us take the pictures we’ve only dreamed about. They were comfortable, easy going, grateful, & most important crazy for each other.
We can’t put into words how ecstatic we are about this wedding. I keep looking through the day & can’t stop smiling. We had a blast hanging out with Gabe & Lacey on their wedding day. Thank you thank you thank you for giving us the opportunity to take these photos! We hope you love them just as much as we do. Pure and simple this wedding was amazeballs. Yep that about sums it up 😉 Welcome to Gabe & Lacey’s wedding day in paradise.
