We’ve been around enough weddings to know that sometimes, things can be stressful. But pictures don’t have to be! It not only benefits the photos when we help you to relax, but you actually can and should have fun with it! We want you to be as natural, and as “you” as possible, so we’ll gently direct and make suggestions, but rigid poses aren’t our thing. (yeah yeah yeah, we realize there aren’t many photographers out there claiming rigid poses ARE their thing…) We’ve found that some of the best moments are ones of laughter and anticipation, of relaxed reflection, and unscripted love between the two of you. And it all starts with us trusting each other. You could describe our “style” like you would a hang out sesh with your friends! At the same time as enjoying our time together, we’re always making sure we are sticking to the schedule and getting all the shots as well! Aside from all that, our editing style is what you are looking at here. We’ve been described as moody before, but truly, we try to keep colors looking true to life, with a touch of filmy cinema. There’s a fine line between “true to life” and “artistic” and we try to straddle that line, so that in 30-40 years from now, your wedding photos don’t look like a long gone trend from the 2020s. 😉

Good question. And it’s a tough one. Because there IS a lot of talent out there to choose from. It really comes down to finding someone who is the best fit for you guys. You’re reading this far because you dig the photos. But also, we assume you also prioritize a photographer’s wedding experience, their good reviews, and an affordable price. Something else to consider though is that you will be spending your entire wedding day with your photographer(s). We pride ourselves in the fact that our couples feel like we are old friends on a double date, and at the end of the day, want us to stick around and keep dancing. That is incredibly special to us, and that can only be achieved through a strong personal connection, having genuine fun together, and becoming friends through the process. A perfect track record of 5 star reviews is also something we are proud to mention as well. 😉

We LOVE our Canon gear. We started on Canon and have no plans on switching it up. We love prime lenses and only use flash when it’s totally necessary. We always bring backup gear as well, and double-backup your photos immediately following weddings & sessions.

We’ve shot enough weddings that we know what to look for and what shots are needed/not needed, so we don’t work off a list, per say. And honestly, our creativity can get stunted if we are focused on getting a bunch “Pinterest” shots that won’t even look the same as you saw them online. Your wedding’s specific story should be told as it unfolds! Every wedding is unique in some way, and we celebrate that fact wholeheartedly. We do, however, ask for a combination list of your family members if you desire family formal photos, to make that time smooth, quick, and easy for everyone. Yes, we can get bossy if needed! 🙂 That being said, if you have a photo request, we’re totally open to making it happen!

The first wedding Stefan ever shot was back in 2008. Let’s just say he had a LONG way to go. But shooting as much as possible, he kept getting better. Audrey was always around helping, so she started clicking away alongside Stefan in 2011. She caught on way quicker than Stefan did. 🙂 Over 350 weddings later, here we are! At this point you could say we’re seasoned pros, but I think we’re just getting started!

Your photos will be hand selected and edited by us, (nothing is done by AI) and delivered via a downloadable online gallery within about 8-10 weeks. (A little quicker than that in the winter/spring, and potentially a little longer at the end of summer.) All of our packages grant you full rights to print and share your photos however you’d like! You can even share the gallery link with friends and family. Also, we always send out a few “sneak peek” images within a few days of the wedding, to hold you over! Your online gallery will have tons of options to order prints and photo products, but they’re your photos, so you have the freedom to choose whatever!

We hear ya. When we got married, we felt the same way. We’re here to help though! Obviously we’ll let you know all the photography details, timeframe expectations, etc… We’ll even send you a full PDF wedding guide we’ve created for you to utilize as you plan! But if you have questions or want recommendations, we’re an open book. We have a lot of wedding knowledge and experience, and if you want a recommendation on a venue, whether or not to do a first look, or even what time of day the light looks best for an outdoor ceremony, we got your back!

Oh man, I thought you’d never ask. For breakfast, definitely have to go with White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Pineapple Banana Pancakes with Coconut Syrup. Followed by a nap. And for dinner, a coconut crusted filet of Monchong with mango salsa for Audrey, a Ribeye for Stefan, garlic bread, a side of asparagus, and a bowl of creamy mac & cheese.
Or a Chicken Caesar Salad & French Fries if we don’t feel like cooking. 🙂

Why We Became hawaii wedding photographers

We didn’t exactly set out to become wedding photographers. This career kind of snuck up on us. One day we were just living our lives in Small Town, USA, and the next, we were booking weddings left and right. Turns out, when you’re in your 20s and know a lot of people getting married, and you own a camera, you end up getting asked to photograph a lot of weddings. Couples started coming to us from Seattle to Portland to Hawaii, and each time we got home from a wedding, we started craving the next one. So here we are, in a totally unexpected career that we actually love. As it turns out, it is possible to do what you love, make a living, and have a blast all at the same time! Sidenote: As you may have seen already, we don’t charge travel fees for our Hawaii couples. There are a few caveats worth mentioning. Yes, we travel from Seattle to make this work. Yes, we are addicted to Hawaii and therefore are willing to eat the travel costs and feed our addiction. We have done this many, many, many times, and we love pumping those dollars straight into the local economy of Maui, Kauai, Oahu, or the Big Island. We love and respect these islands and want to support them and their peoples as best as we can. Sometimes, as we do travel with our kiddos, it’s only Stefan available to photograph the wedding, but let’s chat, and make your photo dreams come true. MAHALO!
